The Hartman Institute offers learning opportunities for, and a network of, professionals in informal Jewish education serving Hillels, summer camps, youth groups, Israel trips, and more. These programs focus on the needs of professionals who are working to offer values-based learning about Jewish identify, Israel, and peoplehood.
Hartman Fellowship for Hillel Professionals
For a decade, Hartman has trained key Hillel leaders and educators on college campuses across North America, building a network of more than 100 current professionals and alumni. Learn more >

Maslul Yisrael Fellows
A partnership of the Ramah Camping Movement and the Hartman Institute, Maslul Yisrael Fellows develop frameworks to foster substantive educational experiences about Israel in Ramah camps. Learn more >
In 2020 the Institute began training professionals leading summer camps and day camps, which is now expanding to serve professionals building teen and young adult programs (post-college).

The Shalom Hartman Institute is also committed to serving the needs of professionals in Jewish day schools – including heads of school and educators – who are working to offer values-based learning about Jewish identify, Israel, and peoplehood.
In 2020 the Institute launched a series of cohort leadership programs for day school leaders from the NY region who studied with Hartman faculty throughout the year to learn and discuss ways to apply the Institute’s values-based approach to their school community. The Institute also hosts conferences for day school educators, most recently a Jewish History Teachers Conference in May 2022 in partnership with Charles E. Smith Day School in Rockville, MD.
In partnership with the Jewish Education Project, Hartman is working to bring iEngage learning to senior educators leading synagogue-based Hebrew schools in a pilot program in 2022-2024.
